Everest-X ITALRAY's R&D department has developed a image enhancement proprietary algorithm to highlight the diagnostic content of scanned images. Thanks to the very wide dynamic range of the digital detector, resulting diagnostic images contain detailed information of radiographic areas with high attenuation (shoulders, abdomen) and low attenuation (lungs, cavities, etc.). This information is already contained in the image pixels, but without a specific processing treatment, the operator must work with Window/Level tool to extract the clinical content of the image. This means that all the information contained in the digital image is indeed available, but at the same time it's impossible to discriminate regions of high and low attenuation that correspond to different levels of gray. With the algorithm Everest-X, it is now possible to expand the latitude of a single image and display all relevant clinical details at the same time and without wasting time on adjustments of Window/Level.
