Insulation Monitoring Devices (IMDs)

Insulation monitoring devices continuously monitor the insulation resistance of IT systems (unearthed systems) and issue an alarm if the value falls below a response value. This allows for faults to be identified at an early stage and hospital staff can plan maintenance when it is convenient. Insulation monitors ensure there is no interruption to operation in the event of a fault and avoids unscheduled shutdown.
