Ireland is Europe's largest medtech employer and is globally recognised as a major centre of excellence in the medical technologies and healthcare sector. Many of the world's top medical technology companis have invested significantly in Ireland and a number of exciting, research-based, indigenous companies are emerging and competing internationally.

Today, Ireland has more than 300 medical device companies, employing more than 25,000 people, and 90 per cent of companies in this sector are SMEs.
