The HERMES dose calibrator is used to determine the activity of known radionuclides present in the radiopharmaceuticals for nuclear medicine. HERMES consists of a high efficiency argon gas ionization chamber. The room is provided with shielding to protect the operator from radiation and minimize background effects. HERMES is able to perform accurate measurements over a wide range without having to replace the ionization chamber.

The processing unit, connected via RS232 to the base of the well, contains an easy and intuitive touch screen display for the selection of proper calibration settings according to the radioisotope whose activity is being measured.
