Peritoneal Dialysis

Unlike hemodyalisis, this kind of dyalisis allows blood purification within the patient’s body, thus avoiding extracorporeal circulation. Peritoneal dyalisis process, alike hemodyalisis, needs an external connection system to be implanted into the body before dyalitic procedures. Nevertheless, in this case a thin flexible tubule, called “catheter”, is inserted in abdomen so that it allows dyalitic solution infusion before treatment and its collection once the operation has been completed.
