Family company on a global growth path

Although our head office is located in the countryside, our products and our philosophy are successful around the world. We are one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of disinfectant, hygiene and skin care products for hospitals, medical practices and aged care facilities as well as of wet wipes for baby care, personal hygiene, cosmetics and household use.

What started as a vision in the laboratory has become a global success story. The idea of producing individual products in the disinfection and hygiene sector to cover a wide range of applications to satisfy customers’ needs was well received right from the start. The gamble of marketing these products as private label or OEM products proved to be a sound and groundbreaking decision. The expertise of Dr. Schumacher GmbH spoke for itself then and continues to now.

From our rural location in Malsfeld in northern Hesse, the company has been on a global growth curve for years.

Our turnover has grown by an average of 20 percent every year since 2005. Nearly 1,800 staff in the company group are currently employed at three production sites (Germany, Poland and Turkey) to ensure that we can reliably supply our customers with goods. This includes major health and beauty chains in Germany as well as various global players.

Just in our new major factory in Poland of about 50,000 m², more than 50 production facilities work around the clock at full speed. Every year about 5,700 tons of disinfectant for skin and hands, medical devices and surfaces of every type along with more than 250 million packaging units containing wet wipes are manufactured for various applications. Distribution centres in eight countries ensure that our products are used in about 70 countries around the world.
