Designed to map out local research, innovation and infrastructure strengths, the audits help identify and build on the potential of every region across the country by making sure investment is properly targeted and uncovering opportunities for businesses to tap into. The Midlands Engine for Growth will use the outputs of the regions Science and Innovation Audit to help shape its emerging innovation strategy. The audit was delivered in partnership with government and the report was launched alongside four others on 3rd November 2016. The Midlands audit was delivered by a team that drew on expertise from across the region. A consultative approach used a series of regional workshops and an online consultation to illicit input from across the region.
