SOM® 62 Ophthal Advanced

The SOM® 62 Ophthal Advanced is our fully motorized surgical microscope. It is suitable for all eye operations from cataract surgery to operations on the posterior section of the eye.

In this surgical microscope easy and exact positioning combine with excellent lighting with a bright, high-contrast red reflex as well as outstanding optical image quality.

The compact design allows the surgeon to position himself in close proximity to the surgical field.  At the same time, the 0-210° swivel binocular tube offers an ergonomic advantage.

All the important controls are easily reached.  The angle of the microscope head is adjusted manually.

The apochromatic motorized 1:6 zoom provides a bright, brilliant image with high contrast and excellent detail recognition. The motorized fine focus (40 mm) contributes to a high level of user comfort.

Various motorized functions, such as adjusting the zoom, focus, XY coupling, light intensity or power on/off, are comfortably performed via the foot control panel. Thus both hands remain free for your patients.

Interruption-free Surgery
Optionally a backup-lamp can be integrated to prevent interruption.  By means of an integrated tilt switch, you can turn the device on or off after reaching the desired work position.

Stable Fundus Reflex (Red Reflex)
The 15 V / 150 W coaxial fiber optics lighting with a built-in UV filter and pivoted retina protection filter GG 475 generates a bright red reflex while providing maximum protection for the patient's eye.

Documentation
Various stereo facilities for secondary observers are available for documentation, teaching or for collaboration with assistants. Alternatively, connect a video camera in conjunction with a TFT-monitor to document your findings. Or use a combination of both options side by side!

Sterility
Keep your microscope completely sterile through the use of asepsis caps and drapes at the controls.
