Thyme Syrup To ease cervix and bronchi Thyme - also known as Thymus serpyllum. Grows on dry, stony soils, embankments and by the wayside, and even on rocks and walls. Substances contained are: Essential oil, tannin, bitter principle, and a flavone. The effect of thyme is due primarily to the essential oil, which has a spasmolytic and disinfecting effect in the lungs and bronchi. Fennel Indigenous to the Mediterranean region, fennel is planted in almost all the southern European countries today. The primary active substance in fennel is the essential oil, of which up to 6% is contained in good plants. 50-70% of the essential oil consists of anethole and fenchone. Other substances are fatty oil, protein and sugar.
